Hi Gip,

Very nice article. I enjoyed it since I am turning into a minimalist with my tiny but firm steps.

Being simple is not easy.

It requires us to stop behaving like programmed robots and cut out distractions. Once we are distraction free, we get back our time.

Once we have time, we have so much of life in front of eyes.

Nice writing Gip. Keep inspiring.

Slightly different angle but this post reminded me of my holidays (vacation time). I love going to a country where I do not speak the language. Years ago this made me feel inadequate (almost impolite) and as though I should learn enough to do more than just 'get by'. I've tried to learn French and this has been on my hit list for a while. However it was this year that the realisation hit me that one reason I love France so much is I cannot follow a conversation that I should not be privy to. I can read signs and if I concentrate and can read a little and make myself understood. Not only do I have a mental break from words flowing through my head constantly, I can't pick up on billboards (unless I deliberately try), or any other wording around the country. It really is switch off time!
